Journalism and Media

Establishing a multi-platform approach from the start, students are able to specialise as they progress through the programme enabling them to work to their journalistic strengths whilst acquiring professional skills in all media.

At the same time students will analyse journalism in all its aspects including ethics, international human rights and the history of the press.

Students who specifically wish to pursue a career in the dynamic field of journalism or related areas will find this degree provides a clear career path.

There is support for students to obtain work placements and experience via the School’s excellent links with industry, plus at the University’s Community Radio Station, Siren FM. A range of print publications run by Journalism students offer further opportunities to develop and practice journalistic skills.
