University of East Anglia

The university celebrates its fiftieth birthday this year. With our uniquely green location, distinctive architecture and commitment to providing a quality student experience, we have continued to grow since our inception in 1960.

Beginnings

After getting the go-ahead to build in 1960, the Earlham golf course was chosen as the site of the permanent campus and work began in 1961.The university was originally based in the present-day University Village - with teaching space for about 1200 students - and admitted its' first cohort of 87 students in 1963. UEA welcomed its first Vice-Chancellor, Frank Thistlethwaite at this time.

The University of Huddersfield has recently been awarded the two Queen's Awards for Enterprise and in 2012 was awarded prestigious Entrepreneurial University of the Year at the Times Higher Education Awards. The University is also in the top 10 in England for teaching excellence* and is ranked in the top 10 nationally for undergraduate and postgraduate employability, student placements in industry and the number of student and graduate businesses supported. University of the West of England

The University of the West of England (also known as UWE Bristol, or simply UWE) is a university located in the city of Bristol, United Kingdom. Its main campus is at Frenchay in Bristol, about five miles (8 km) north of the city centre and close to the M32 motorway.

UWE also has campuses at St Matthias and Glenside in north-east Bristol and Bower Ashton, near Ashton Court in south-west Bristol. There is also a regional centre at Gloucester Docks, Gloucestershire, and an associate faculty (Hartpury College) specialising in animal behaviour and welfare, agricultural and sports related courses in Hartpury, Gloucestershire.
